Widget
Stories widget
Also known as: Video stories tray, Story bar
A horizontal row of circular video avatars that expand into fullscreen tap-through players — the Instagram-Stories pattern applied to a storefront.
In detail
A stories widget borrows the Instagram-Stories pattern: a tray of circular avatars at the top of a page that each open into a fullscreen, tap-forward video sequence. It is the highest engagement layout for mobile but takes the most vertical space; it works best as a sitewide header block on mobile and a sidebar block on desktop.
Examples
- A beauty brand puts a stories tray at the top of its mobile product pages, each avatar leading to a different ingredient story with the matching products tagged.
