How it works

How to use the Social Media Image Resizer

  1. 1

    Choose your image

Select a JPG, PNG or WebP file from your computer or phone.

  2. 2

    Pick where it is going

Choose the network and format, for example Instagram portrait or YouTube thumbnail. The tool sets the exact size in pixels.

  3. 3

    Choose fill or fit

Fill crops the edges so the picture covers the whole frame. Fit keeps the whole picture and adds a background colour around it.

  4. 4

    Download

Save the result as a JPG, or as a PNG if you need sharp text or a logo.

Next step

Upload the image to your Byvano media library, write the caption once and schedule it to Instagram and Facebook. Byvano publishes it at the time you choose.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?+
No. The resizing happens inside your browser. The file is not sent to Byvano or to any other server, so it also works with product photos you have not published yet.
What size should an Instagram post be?+
A portrait post is 1080 by 1350 pixels, a square post is 1080 by 1080, and a Story or Reel cover is 1080 by 1920. Portrait takes up the most space in the feed.
What size is a YouTube thumbnail?+
YouTube recommends 1280 by 720 pixels, which is a 16:9 shape.
What is the difference between fill and fit?+
Fill enlarges the picture until the frame is covered and cuts off what does not fit. Fit shrinks the picture until all of it is visible and fills the empty space with a colour you choose.
Do these sizes ever change?+
Yes. Networks adjust their recommended sizes from time to time. The sizes here were checked in October 2026. If a network has announced a new size, use the custom width and height fields.
Should I save as JPG or PNG?+
Use JPG for photos, because the file is much smaller. Use PNG for images with text, logos or flat colours, where JPG can look blurry around the edges.
