Engagement rate
Also known as: ER
A ratio comparing the engagement a post received (likes, comments, shares, saves) to the audience that could see it.
In detail
Engagement rate measures how actively an audience responded to a post as a fraction of its reach or follower count. There is no single formula — common ones divide total engagements by reach (ER reach), followers (ER follower), or impressions. The number is only useful when the denominator is held constant across comparisons. Byvano reports engagement rate per post and per account on its analytics page, with the denominator stated so cross-platform comparisons do not mislead.
Examples
- A Reel with 50K reach and 2,500 interactions has an engagement rate of 5%.
